Bobcats Extra: Power Rankings

With already one week in the books for the 2009-10 NBA Season, we have decided to start keeping track of where your Charlotte Bobcats are currently sitting in each of the Power Rankings. We will look at each of the national websites that cover the NBA and where each site ranks the Bobcats at in their power rankings.

NBA.com 25th(down 3 spots from the previous week): Looking at the Bobcats' offensive numbers will make you shudder: 37 percent shooting, 9-for-41 from downtown and 19.5 turnovers per 100 possessions. They've scored 13 points or less in four different quarters, including one against the Knicks' defense.

ESPN.com 21st(up 1 from previous week): It took exactly one game for Charlotte to make its own case that signing A.I. would have helped. They've always had trouble scoring, but even the Bobs had never scored fewer than 73 ... until Boston held them to 59.

SI.com 23rd(unchanged): The Bobcats need Tyson Chandler to shake the rust off fast. After missing the entire summer and most of the preseason recovering from ankle surgery, Chandler has more fouls (nine) than points (six) and is shooting 33.3 percent from the floor (6-of-18). "This is his exhibition season," coach Larry Brown told the Charlotte Observer. "I'm comfortable with him. We just need to figure out ways to use him. And he can't be so hard on himself.

FOXSports.com 21st(up 2 from previous week): (2-2) Bounced back after opening debacle against Boston, but scoring will be an issue all season.

Those are the Power Rankings of where the Charlotte Bobcats are currently at right now. We'll be keeping track of them during the 2009-10 season, and if you have any comments on them, feel free to post them here or on Facebook. And we have posted the links to each of the sites that have the NBA Power Rankings so you can check them out for yourself.
